Millennium Pharmacy Systems, based in Chicago, and a leader in institutional pharmacy services, has set up shop in Orlando and their operations would likely generate some 120 jobs over the next two to three years.

Millennium Pharmacy Systems, an eight year old company which has witnessed staggering growth of nearly 1000 percent over the last few years, will operate from 6509 Hazeltine Drive, in the vicinity of  the Orlando International Airport.

The Pharmacy will receive, package and ship out prescription drugs to nursing homes and Assisted Living Facilities, most of which do not have pharmacies on site.

According to Millennium’s CEO Richard Scardina, Florida was an attractive state to expand into, due to its growing elderly population.

There are close to 700 nursing homes in Florida serving more than 80,000 elderly and disabled people, according to the Florida Health Care Association, a Tallahassee-based group.
