Orange County deputies released critical evidence – surveillance video – in connection with a home invasion and shooting that claimed the life of a 50-year-old man one week ago.
John Brennan, 50, was shot and killed in his Union Park home on Bridlewood Avenue on July 18, and investigators have surveillance video of the suspects’ vehicle pulling up outside the residence.
Brennan’s teenage son, Ian, told investigators that several black males kicked in the door to the residence around 4:00 a.m. Ian was pistol whipped and then the suspects fatally shot his dad, John, once.
The suspects concealed their faces with bandanas investigators said.
It is not clear if Brennan was targeted or the home invasion was random, but according to news reports, the men were looking for items to steal inside the home and demanding keys to the family’s vehicles.
Investigators are asking the public’s assistance in identifying the car seen in the surveillance video or have information on this deadly home invasion to call Crimeline at # 1-800-423-TIPS (8477). Callers may remain anonymous.
