A man who severely beat a 2-year-old child about the face and body with a clothes hanger is now behind bars.
Polk County deputies said, 32-year-old David L. Sinnett, of Holly Lane in Bartow, was arrested on Wednesday, charged with one count of aggravated child abuse.
Witnesses told investigators that Sinnett beat the child with a clothes hanger because he (the child) couldn’t pronounce his sister’s name correctly. There were several bruises to the boy’s body and a severely injured eye.
A doctor’s examination of the child’s black eye confirmed that the 2-year-old suffered a fractured orbital bone, which the doctor said could cause permanent eye damage or even loss of sight, investigators said.
Sinnett was booked into the Polk County Jail on no bond. He is expected to make a first appearance in court at 1:00 p.m., today.
According to deputies, Sinnett has been in the Polk County Jail on eight prior occasions, his most recent prior arrest in 2005 for second degree murder and attempted murder. He was sentenced to five years in state prison for those crimes and released from prison in May 2010, deputies also said.
This POS needs to stay away from children and animals because he is damaged. What was the “Mother” thinking allowing a convicted felon access to her children. Sad story from the childs point of view. He didn’t deserve his dumb mother or her mean sick boyfriend.
