Mark O’Mara who is representing George Zimmerman said on his website that “it will be a conflict for the O”Mara Law Group to represent Mrs. Zimmerman (and) she will retain independent counsel.”

Shellie Zimmerman, 25, was booked into the John W. Polk Correctional Facility on Tuesday and released on $1,000 bond.  She has been charged with lying at the bond hearing of her husband in April, authorities say.

28-year-old George Zimmerman is charged with second degree murder in the shooting death of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin, an unarmed black teen.

At the time of the April bond hearing, Shellie portrayed the couple as having no financial means and her husband did not contradict her.

But several days before the April bond hearing, Shellie Zimmerman transferred $74,000 in eight smaller amounts ranging from $7,500 to $9,990, from her husband’s credit union account to hers, according to an arrest affidavit, the AP reported. It also shows that $47,000 was transferred from George Zimmerman’s account to his sister’s in the days before the bond hearing.

According to the affidavit, four days after George Zimmerman was released on bond, Shellie zimmerman transferred more than $85,500 from her account into her husband’s account, the AP also reported. The affidavit also said jail call records show that George Zimmerman instructed her to “pay off all the bills,” including an American Express and Sam’s Club card.

On June 1, Judge Kenneth Lester revoked George’s bond and ordered him back to jail because of the deception.

Zimmerman has pleaded not guilty and said, he shot Martin in self defense.

It is unclear when Shellie Zimmerman’s perjury case will be heard.

According to news reports, Zimmerman is said to be worried for his wife’s safety.
