A U.S. postal truck caught fire on Interstate 4 near U.S. 192 in Osceola County on Friday morning, after the driver lost control, Florida Highway Patrol said.
Troopers said, 44-year-old Ruben Rendon, of Riverview, was heading eastbound on Interstate 4, when he traveled to the right and onto the shoulder. The postal truck stuck the end of the guardrail then traveled left and struck a concrete barrier.
Troopers also said, the truck came to a stop in the left lane facing eastbound on I-4, and caught fire.
Rendon was able to get out of the vehicle before the cab caught fire. He told troopers that the front tire separated causing the truck to leave the roadway, suddenly.
Rendon, who suffered minor injuries, was taken to Celebration Hospital for treatment.
The crash led to the closure of several lanes on I-4 near U.S. 192, which have since been re-opened.
