Last night Dr. Phillips High School honored 38 student-athletes were honored with the Principal’s Award for their sports. The award is presented by each sport’s coach to an athlete they recognize as exemplifying leadership, commitment and pride. The school also honored their Coach of the Year and inducted, Blair Bodenmiller into the athletic Hall of Fame. The 2012 Principal’s Award honorees are Stephanie Probst (Athletic Training), Preston Cronk (Baseball), Taylor Zimmerman (Women’s Basketball), Isaac Lane (Men’s Basketball), Rachel Stephen (Women’s Bowling), Joshua Nassar (Men’s Bowling), Micaela Garber (Cheerleading), Melissa Lore (Women’s Cross Country), A.J. Cunningham (Men’s Cross Country), Jade Cheek (Flag Football), Chris Tukdarian (Football), Mindy Schwartz (Women’s Golf), Eric Shiar (Men’s Golf), Katherine Breese (Women’s Lacrosse), Craig Jackson (Men’s Lacrosse), Rebekah Martin (Women’s Soccer), David DiMauro (Men’s Soccer), Kalie Hernandez (Softball), Kaleigh DeHart (Women’s Swimming), Ryan Staton (Men’s Swimming), Maria Contreras (Women’s Tennis), Cooper Vissers (Men’s Tennis), Bridget Blake (Women’s Track and Field), Reggie Glover (Men’s Track and Field), Erika Figueroa (Women’s Volleyball), Andrew Johnson (Men’s Volleyball), Shannon MacNeil (Women’s Water Polo), Jack Orchard (Men’s Water Polo) Shanice Richardson (Women’s Weightlifting), Brad Bindas (Men’s Weightlifting), Neshlly Gonzalez (Women’s Wrestling) and T.J. McLaughlin (Men’s Wrestling).
In addition to the Principal’s Awards, the United States Army Reserve presented its Scholar-Athlete awards to Katherine Breese (Women’s Lacrosse) and Sam Ranieri (Football). The Bob Noyes Sportsmanship Awards were presented to junior Riley O’Donnell (Women’s Bowling, Women’s Soccer, Women’s Lacrosse) and senior David James (Men’s Swimming, Men’s Water Polo). The 2012 William C. Spoone Scholar-Athletes of the Year went to Katherine Breese (Women’s Lacrosse) and Zach Pindar (Men’s Basketball) . Coach of the Year was presented to Samantha Boussalham (Competitive Cheerleading). Three-sport star Hannah Schaible (Women’s Volleyball, Women’s Basketball, Flag Football) and record setting quarterback Nick Patti (Football) were presented as the 2012 Most Outstanding Athletes of the Year.
