Elena Rosario, a sophomore at Connecticut College, was awarded the Connecticut College Bookshop Prize, which is given to a sophomore who has combined outstanding qualities of leadership, good citizenship and service to the College. Rosario was presented with the award at the annual Honors & Awards ceremony at Connecticut College on May 1.
Rosario, a 2010 graduate of Jones High School, is the daughter of Maria Rosario of Orlando.
At the ceremony, the awards were presented by President Leo I. Higdon, Jr. and Armando I. Bengochea, dean of the college.
Jennifer A. Fredricks, associate professor and chair of human development faculty director, Holleran Center for Community Action and Public Policy, gave the keynote address.
