Two suspects have been arrested in connection with the horrific deaths of two teens who burning bodies were found near Cady Way Trail in mid-April.
Jesse Davis, 30, and Hector Rodriguez, 31, have been charged with first degree murder with a firearm and kidnapping in the deaths of 16-year-old Nicholas Presha and 18-year-old Jeremy Stewart, Orange County Sheriff Jerry Demings announced late Friday night.
The bodies of Presha and Stewart were found burning in a desolate area of Cady Way Trail by a passer-by on April 15.
Demings, in announcing the arrests, described the suspects as “evil, dangerous criminals.”
Demings also said, the teens’ murders came as a result of their attempts to sell two stolen hand guns to Davis and Rodriguez and were not linked to an unpaid drug debt, as widely reported.
Both Davis and Rodriguez have long rap sheets. Davis was already incarcerated in the Orange County Jail, having been booked on other crimes on April 17.
Rodriguez was booked into jail just after mid-night on Saturday morning.
The suspects, Davis and Rodriguez, have been charged with first degree murder with a firearm and kidnapping.
Davis faces multiple other charges including aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of cannabis, among other charges.
It had been reported that Presha and Stewart were murdered execution-style, bound and gagged, then shot in the back.
