Deputies have identified the man who was killed near Orange Blossom Trail on Thursday morning.
The deceased is 45-year-old Alton M. Johnson.
Orange County investigators found Johnson suffering from a gunshot wound inside a residence in the 1300 block on 40th Street around 9:30 a.m.
Fire Rescue provided medical assistance, but Johnson was prounced dead, after being rushed to Orlando Regional Medical Center.
Based on information, investigators initially believed that the suspect was inside the home. But after repeated calls for the suspect to surrender, the scene was cleared.
The suspect is believed to be on the run.
Although early in the investigation, it is unclear what might have led to Johnson’s murder.
