The driver of tanker truck carrying 8,000 gallons of jet fuel and traveling southbound on Interstate 95, drifted off the roadway and into a fence Tuesday morning, Florida Highway Patrol said.
86-year-old Wilbert Warren, of Jacksonville, the driver of the tanker, for unknown reasons, drifted towards the south shoulder into the woods and struck a fence.
A small fuel leak developed after the crash and another tanker was brought to the location, six miles south of County Road 442, to offload the jet fuel, troopers said.
Warren was taken to Bert Fish Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.
FHP said, Warren has a great driving record, with a single ticket prior to him being ticketed today, for failure to maintain a single lane.
