A man who attempted to rob a Bank of America branch on South Orange Blossom trail was arrested on Thursday, Orange County deputies said.
54-year-old Gerard N. Louis, has been charged with attempted robbery, after investigators said, he attempted to rob the Bank of America at 4640 South Orange Blossom Trail on Monday.
Louis entered the bank, asked for the head teller and passed a note to one of the other tellers demanding money.
According to Louis’ arrest affidavit report, the note stated, “Give all of the money, if not someone will get shot.”
Louis confirmed to deputies he was at the bank, but wrote a note asking if he could cash a two hundred dollar check, “because people have a hard time understanding his accent.”
Investigators said, Louis has an extensive criminal history which includes bank robbery, robbery, child molestation and escape, among others.
Louis was released from the Federal Bureau of Prisons on March 9, 2012 and was required to report to the Federal Probation, but failed to do so.
He was booked into the Orange County Jail without bond.
