Troopers have released the names of the two persons killed in a crash on I-95 early on Saturday morning.
Julian De Los Angeles, 22, of Maitland, and Alison Goldberg 24, of Davie, died near mile marker 168 in Brevard County, around 2:30 a.m.
FHP said, De Los Angeles heading southbound in a 2011 Volkswagon Jetta on I-95, rear-ended a DATS pick-up truck and then came to a stop in the middle of road.
The Jetta was then struck by the driver of a semi truck and trailor, Israel Rivera, 51, who didn’t see the VW stopped in the road, troopers said. Both vehicles ended up in the woods nearby.
Joachim Tertulien, 58, of Palm Bay, the driver of the pick-up that was rear-ended, suffered serious injuries and was taken to Palm Bay Hospital.
Rivera, 51, of Antioch, TN, suffered minor injuries.
De Los Angeles and Goldberg, a passenger in the Volkswagon Jetta, were pronounced dead on the spot by the medical examiner.
Toxicology results are being awaited to determine whether or not alcohol played a role in the crash
Troopers said, the crash remains under investigation.
