Seminole County deputies have charged a woman’s live-in boyfriend with murdering her early on Friday morning.
The incident occurred at the Mystic Cove Apartments.
25-year-old Jorge Nieves, has been charged with second degree murder in the death of his girlfriend, Karla Gladiris Barreto Pagan, 28.
Deputies received a 911 call around 12:30 a.m. Friday, from a family member who reported a “suspicious incident” at the apartment.
When deputies arrived they found Barreto Pagan dead inside a bedroom.
Nieves was found injured and transported to the Orlando Regional Medical Center, for treatment of his injuries.
Deputies believe that a domestic dispute inside the resident led to the murder, but they won’t say how Barreto Pagan died. They say it is an isolated incident and there is no threat to the public.
Nieves will be transported to the John E. Polk Correctional Facility upon his release from the hospital.
