Mask-wearing Teen, Charged with 2nd Degree Attempted Murder

A teenager was arrested Saturday morning, charged with attempted second degree murder and other crimes.

Ocoee police say, 18-year-old Tyree Spratt, of Winter Garden, and several other suspects, rang the doorbell at a home on Plumgrass Circle in the Reserve of Meadow Lakes subdivision on Friday night.

Police also say, Spratt was wearing a mask and carrying a handgun when he and the other suspects attempted to enter the home in the 1000 block on Plumgrass Circle.

The homeowner told police, when he tried to close the door to prevent the suspects from entering, he was shot through the door and injured. The suspects then fled the location.

The injured homeowner was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center for treatment and is expected to make a full recovery.

Police recovered the getaway vehicle abandoned in a nearby subdivision, along with the firearm they believe was used in the shooting.

Sprat was arrested and booked into the Orange County Jail, without bond.  He has been charged with attempted second degree murder, attempted robbery with a firearm while wearing a mask, possession of a handgun by a person under 21 years and shooting a deadly missile into an occupied dwelling.

Police say, they are continuing to identify other possible participants in this crime.
