It has been almost six years since 24-year-old Jennifer Kesse went missing from her condominium at Americana/Texas Avenue and today, FDLE and the Orlando Police Department announced they are assembling a day-long Specialized Multi Agency Review Team (SMART) to examine the evidence collected so far.
“The SMART will allow law enforcement to put fresh eyes on this investigation,” says FDLE Assistant Special Agent in Charge, Danny Banks. “We will never stop looking for answers and this cold case review allows numerous investigators to come together for the day putting an intensive focus on this investigation.”
A SMART is assembled to rejuvenate cold cases in an effort to develop additional leads. It is comprised of investigators who have worked the Jennifer Kesse case and investigators who have not previously worked the case.
OPD Chief Paul Rooney said, the police department will remain “passionate in its pursuit to uncover any leads and dontinue this investigation.”
Kesse, who was last seen near her home in the Millenia area, disappeared on January 24, 2006, and has not been seen since. While hundreds of leads have been followed up, to date, law enforcement officers are no closer to finding the missing woman.
At today’s press conference, the Kesse family members praised law enforment officers and expressed their appreciation for the ongoing search efforts.
“The Kesse family is extremely grateful and appreciative of the efforts of law enforcement and the panel,” said Joyce Kesse, mother of Jennifer Kesse.
