Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, the frontrunner for the Republican presidential nomination, on Tuesday released the first major television ad tied to Florida’s Jan. 31 primary.
The ad, entitled “Leader,” uses Romney’s answer to a question at a CNBC debate in November as the sound for a soft biographical ad. It focuses on his time as a businessman, running the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City and Romney’s family life.
Florida’s primary is expected to play a key role after the Iowa caucuses on Tuesday, New Hampshire primaries a week later and the South Carolina vote on Jan. 21 winnow the field.
