Man Crossing Road Killed by Hit-and-Run Driver

Authorities are searching for a hit-and-rund driver who killed a pedestrian in Orange County on Wednesday night.

Troopers say, the male victim was attempting to cross Semoran Boulevard from east to west, south of the intersection, but he wasn’t in a cross walk.

The driver of a black Jeep Wrangler was traveling southbound on Semoran Boulevard, near Old Cheney Highway.  The driver struck the man and then fled the scene around 7:00 p.m.

Witnesses told troopers, the man walked into the direct path of the Jeep.

Troopers have not released the name of the man who was pronounced dead at Florida Hospital East.

Troopers are looking for a black Jeep Wrangler with a soft top roof with a loud muffler. The suspect’s vehicle is expected to have front or right, front damage.

The investigation is ongoing and charges are pending.
