Wait! Florida is a Depressing Place to Live

Of the top 10 saddest cities in the nation, it turns out that Florida has three cites in the bunch.

St. Petersburg, known for its abundant sunshine is the Saddest City of 100 cities surveyed, according to Men’s Health. Tampa comes in as the 97th saddest city, while Miami holds the 93th spot.  Tampa had the 13th highest suicide rate among the major cities looked at, while St. Pete had the 8th worst, according to the study.

Orlando is a little less sad than Miami, Tampa and St. Petersburg — turns out that City Beautiful was found to be the 82nd saddest city.

The authors of the study, in determining the saddest cities in America, took into account unemployment rates, suicide rates and mapped for the percentage of households that use antidepressants and persons who say they feel the blues all or most of the time.
