Troopers Identify Motorcyclist, Female Rider Killed in Sanford Crash

A 40-year-old Lake Mary woman and the driver of a motorcycle were killed in a crash on Sunday afternoon on State Road 46 in Sanford.

Troopers said, Angela Curcio, was riding on the back of a 2007 Harley-Davidson motorcycle driven by 51-year-old Donn Wolf, at the time of the crash. They were traveling westbound on State Road 46, a two lane road, when they struck the rear of a Hyundai.  Marjorie Joyce, 60, of Altmonte Springs was driving the 2002 Hyundai.

Joyce, who was also heading westbound and in front of the Harley Davidson motorcycle,  was attempting to make a left turn to travel south on River Oak Circle, when the crash occurred.

Wolf tried to avoid slamming into the back of the Hyundai and dropped the motorcycle, but struck its rear.

Wolf and Curcio were ejected from the motorcycle and pronounced dead on the scene. Both were wearing helmets at the time of the crash.

Troopers said, toxicology results are being awaited to determine whether or not alcohol played a role in the crash.

Witnesses told troopers that the motorcycle was passing other westbound traffic in a no passing zone before the crash occurred around 6:00 p.m. on Sunday.

The crash remains under investigation.
