A man accused of abusing a 3-month-old baby, was arrested in Orlando on Wednesday.
Javier L. Aguilar, 22, of Polk County, was taken into custody on a warrant for aggravated child abuse, of the 3-month-old baby that was left in his care.
Investigators said, the baby was found to have suffered a skull fracture, multiple broken bones, including all his ribs, and the tabia and femur in his left leg.
After the baby boy began having seizures, detectives say, the mother took him to a local hospital. From there the child was airlifted to Arnold Palmer Children’s Hospital where tests and examinations revealed his injuries were consistent with abuse.
Detectives said, Aguilar was the baby’s only caregiver, while his mother was at work.
The baby is in stable condition at the Arnold Palmer Hospital, but will likely suffer long-term damage from the abuse, including seizures and possible blindness and/or brain damage, investigators said.
Anguilar is being booked into the Orange County Jail. He will be extradited to Polk County after a first appearance in Orange County.
