Dyer, Arnold Palmer Kick Off Perfect Day Competition

Announced with much fanfare recently by the City of Orlando and Festival Republic, this Fall’s newest music Festival Orlando Calling is proving yet again that it’s a true “fans festival” by announcing the “Perfect Day” contest.  The “Perfect Day” gives fans a forum to submit and discuss a “Perfect Day” at the Festival simply by going online and filling out a Perfect Day form.

Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer, championship golfing legend Arnold Palmer, and many of the acts performing at the Festival have all submitted their Perfect Day scenarios and fans can go online now at www.lineup.orlandocalling.com/schedule to fill out their own Perfect Day forms. One lucky winner chosen randomly will win a VIP upgrade package to watch their favorite artists from their “Perfect Day” from an exclusive side of the stage viewing spot.

“My perfect day at Orlando Calling starts out early with my favorite Orlando band, the Hindu Cowboys. After they wrap up I spend the next few hours going back and forth between the stages checking out some bands I haven’t gotten the chance to hear before and eating some delicious food from the many local vendors. Then, I get the chance to see some of my favorite acts all in a row with Buddy Guy, the Doobie Brothers and finish it all off with Bob Seger,” said Mayor Dyer.

And golf legend Arnold Palmer added “My perfect day would allow me the opportunity to thank all the fans and artists who helped raise funds for the Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children.”

“I plan on only doing two things on Saturday, playing one helluva show for Orlando and then planting my ass on the lawn at the main stage to check out The Killers and The Roots. I’m also trying to orchestrate a plan to kidnap Alto Reed so I can play sax with Bob Seger. If anyone has any pointers, let me know,” Jerry DePizzo of O.A.R.

The Festival also added The Ettes for Saturday and Del McCoury for Sunday as new artists on the bill. Orlando Calling previously announced the schedules of all 4 stages of artists which includes full headline sets from The Killers (Saturday) and the only Florida show all year by Bob Seger & The Silver Bullet Band (Sunday) with Kid Rock, their first time ever sharing a major live engagement.

Orlando Calling will be a weekend long action-packed festival set in America’s entertainment playground of Orlando, Florida at the world famous Citrus Bowl Park. Featuring four stages of American Artists, Orlando Calling will present platinum-selling marquee acts, icons from the genres of Blues, Country, Rock, Alternative, Nu Folk and R&B. The Festival will also showcase exciting young talent emerging from the Central Florida area and across the nation. Tickets and ticket packages are on sale now at www.orlandocalling.com.

The Festival will feature full sets from its headline artists. The Killers, will perform a rare US show, their first public appearance in over two years, as Saturday night’s headline act. Sunday night’s headliner, Bob Seger & The Silver Bullet Band, will perform on an outdoor festival bill for the first time in decades, and for a rare and unique Festival appearance, Kid Rock will join the bill. Other artists will include seminal indie rock acts The Raconteurs and Pixies, and the popular folk rock ensemble, The Avett Brothers.
