FHP: 22-Year-Old Killed by Hit and Run Driver

Troopers are searching for a hit-and-run driver who struck and killed a pedestrian in Seminole County on Monday night.

An unknown car was traveling westbound on La Salle Drive and Northwestern Avenue, when the driver struck two pedestrians, 16-year-old Jorge Orlando Ardoleda, of Altamonte Springs, and 22-year-old Carmen Lydia Martinez of Apopka, who were lying in the road way. The crash occurred just after 8:30 p.m.

It is unknown why Ardoleda and Martinez, who were boyfriend and girlfriend, were lying in the roadway.

They were both transported to the Orlando Regional Medical, but Martinez died on the way to the hospital.    Ardoleda remains in critical condition.

Troopers said, the hit-and-run driver left the scene, traveling north on Northwestern Avenue.   They are looking for a white or silver passenger car with right front damage.  The right, front headlight will be damaged or may be missing.

Anyone with information on this crash is asked to contact FHP at 407-737-2213. The crash remains under investigation and charges are pending, troopers said.

Meanwhile, troopers said 71-year-old, Philip Jackson, of Geneva, was also killed in Seminole County Monday night, after he failed to negotiate a right hand turn into his driveaway and drove into a pond.

Jackson was driving a Ford pick-up truck, traveling westbound on 3280 Lake Harney Circle.

Troopers said, Jackson was able to exit the pick-up on his own, but died on the scene, possibly from medical issues or natural causes.
