Senator Gary Siplin (D-Orlando) will continue visits to local Orange County High Schools to encourage students to adhere to the new dress code laws, which resulted from legislation he sponsored during the 2011 Legislative Session. Siplin kicked off his first visit with Maynard Evans High School on today, Wednesday, August 24th.
Siplin will be accompanied by local pastor Derrick McRae, Senior Pastor of The Experience Christian Center, who will donate belts to each school in support of the new legislation, and program directors from the Professional Opportunity Program for Students, Inc. (P.O.P.S), an organization which assists students in the completion of high school and motivates them to pursue advanced education and gainful employment.
The visits will begin promptly at 7:00 a.m., starting in each school’s administration office. The dates are as follows:
