Orlando Police Release Names of Victim, Suspect in College Park Shooting

Orlando police detectives have released the names of the victim and suspect in the College Park shooting on Wednesday.

The deceased is 46-year-old Phillip Peatross.

The shooting occurred in the 900 block of West Smith Street just before 5:00 a.m. on Wednesday.

Investigators said, upon their arrival at the location a female present at the house, was very upset and agitated.  When the house was checked they located Peatross dead in one of the rooms.    Police recovered a weapon at the scene, but it is not known to whom it belongs.

46-year-old Caryn Kelley, Peatross’ girlfriend, has been identified as the suspect in this shooting.

Kelley was questioned most of the day by investigators and has denied any wrong doing.   She told investigators that Peatross shot himself.

Kelley has been charged with first degree murder with a firearm.   She was booked into the Orange County Jail around 6:30 p.m. without bond.
