Man Killed After Walking into Path of Vehicle


A pedestrian died on Monday afternoon after apparently walking into th path of an oncoming vehicle on US 441, near Duskin Avenue in Orange County.

The Florida Highway Patrol identified the pedestrian as 94-year-old James McGee, of Orlando.

According to FHP, McGee was struck by a 1994 Ford F150 that was traveling south on US 441 in the right lane, approaching the intersection of Duskin Avenue.  The FHP identified the driver of the Ford as 36-year-old Mister A. Harvin, of Windermere.

McGee was on the east shoulder of US 441 in front of 5543 US 441 and walked into the direct path of the Ford F150, the FHP reported.  McGee was struck by the front of the Ford F150.

McGee died on the spot.

Harvin suffered minor injuries and was taken to the Orlando Regional Medical Center.

FHP said that the crash remains under investigation and charges are pending.
