A man, armed with handgun, robbed an RBC Bank on Monday afternoon, Orange County Sheriff’s deputies said.
The suspect entered the bank at 13583 Hunters Oak Drive, just after 3:00 p.m., and approached the teller. He pulled out a handgun and demanded cash. The clerk complied and gave the suspect an undisclosed amount of money.
The suspect was seen fleeing the scene on foot behind a shopping center.
A deputy sheriff who was nearby heard the call on the radio and responded to the area. He was able to apprehend the suspect without further incident.
The name of the 62-year-old white male suspect has not yet been released.
It is believed that no one in the bank was hurt as a result of the armed robbery.
