To help residents identify and report insurance fraud, State Rep. Geraldine Thompson will join Florida’s Chief Financial Officer Jeff Atwater, Orange County Sheriff Jerry Demings, and insurance agency officials at an insurance fraud summit on June 29 at the West Orlando Rotary Club.
Representative Thompson invites members of the Central Florida community to participate in the event to learn how insurance fraud increases auto insurance premiums.
The summit takes place from 10 a.m. to 12:00 noon on Wednesday, June 29, at the West Orlando Rotary Club located at 475 S. Kirkman Road in Orlando.
Central Florida has been identified as a top area in the state for staged auto accidents and insurance fraud. Information will be given on how the fraud leads to higher insurance rates for area residents even though they may be good drivers. Representative Thompson will discuss how residents can identify and report fraud and promote stable insurance rates.
