Passenger Killed After Pick-up Overturns on SR 528

An unnamed passenger died on the spot Thursday, after a pick-up overturned on State Road 528, near the mile marker 51 in Brevard County.

Troopers said, 34-year-old Jared Fetko of Cape Canaveral, was driving a 1993 Chevy pick-up eastbound on SR 528, when he lost control and traveled into the center median. Fetko over-corrected and the pick-up overturned.

An unnamed passenger, 42 years, who was not wearing a seat-belt, was ejected from the pick-up and pronounced dead on the scene.

Fetko, who also was not wearing a seat-belt, was partially ejected from the vehicle.  He was taken to Holmes Regional Hospital with serious injuries.

Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) are awaiting toxicology results to determine whether or not alcohol played a role in the crash.

FHP said the crash remains under investigation and charges are pending.

The crash occurred around 1:30 pm, and traffic was backed up for miles on SR 528.
