Cindy Anthony was scheduled to pay a jail house visit to her daughter Casey on Saturday morning, but it did not happen. Casey rejected the visit.
Cindy, who has not seen Casey in over two years, was scheduled to have a video visitation from 9:00 am to 9:45 am, on Saturday, May 7th.
But according to a statement from an official at the Orange County Jail:
“At approximately 6:50 a.m. this morning (Saturday, May 7th) Casey Anthony told a housing officer doing routine cell checks that she was aware of the 9:00 a.m. video visitation requested by Cindy Anthony and that she is declining the requested video visit.”
Although Casey rejected her mother’s visit, Cindy did show up anyway at the jail to put money in her daughter’s jailhouse account, according to news reports.
Meanwhile, a Daytona Appeal Court ruled on Friday that Judge Bevin Perry could keep the location of jury selection confidential until just before the start of the trial tomorrow, Monday, May 9th. Several media outlets had challenged Perry’s ruling on keeping the location of jury selection confidential.
Anthony is charged with first degree murder in the death of her two-year-old daughter, Caylee, whose remains were found in a wooded area near the Anthony family home in December 2008.
Casey had initially claimed her daughter was kidnapped by a baby sitter, but that “story” was later debunked by her defense attorneys.
Although the defense strategy is unclear less than one day before the start of Casey’s first degree murder trial, speculation is rife that, with the rejection of Cindy’s visit yesterday, her defense team may try to pin Caylee’s death on one of her other family members.
The countdown continues to the start of what has been billed at the most watched trial in Florida, if not the country.
