Deputies: OCPS Teacher Arrested, Accused of Grand Theft

Christina D. Hinson Allen

An Orange County Public Schools (OCPS) elementary teacher was arrested today downtown Orlando, accused of stealing money from a parent teachers fund she managed, Orange County Sheriff’s deputies said.

46-year-old Christina D. Hinson-Allen, a teacher at Rolling Hills Elementary School, 4903 Donovan Street, was arrested by a Fugitive Agent around 11:00 am, on Tuesday and charged with one count of grand theft.

Deputies said, in 2009, it is believed that Ms. Hinson-Allen, who was treasurer of the school’s PTO, allegedly stole around $1,500 from the PTO fund.

According to the Incident Report, Hinson-Allen cashed two checks in the amount of $200 and $1,500 in late 2007, breaching several of the procedures, to include two signatures and receipts detailing what the funds were used for.

While Hinson-Allen told investigators she recalled spending $200 on food for the school, she was unable to provide a receipt.   In addition, she could not recall what was purchased with the $1,500 cash.

Charges were filed with the States Attorney’s Office earlier this year.
