The 2011 Fine Arts Principal of the Year winners have been announced and the winners are Pamela Sanders, principal, Avalon Elementary School; Dr. Carl Cartwright, principal, Howard Middle School, and Dr. Elise Gruber, principal, Wekiva High School.
The big announcement was made at the annual Principals Appreciation Breakfast sponsored by the Orange County Arts Education Center and the Orlando Magic.
Winners were nominated by art teachers at their schools and were selected based on their knowledge of arts curriculum, willingness to advocate for arts education, and support of the fine arts program needs at their school.
