According to police, a Brevard County mother was shot and killed in front of her teenaged daughter Monday night and the victim was a relative of a Melbourne police officer.
Officers say the mother of a 16-year-old girl, Melissa McNeil, was caught in the crossfire after a big brawl led to gunfire. The fight broke out Monday night around 9:00.
Shots were fired in a parking lot at Lizzy’s restaurant on Monroe Street and University Boulevard, in Melbourne
Melbourne police said the deadly shooting at was triggered by a fight at a nearby ball park and escalated to the parking lot of the restaurant.
