Haiti’s ruling Inite (Unity) party has not yet officially announced whether its candidate Jude Célestin will remain in the presidential race, but media reports have already indicated that he is about to drop out.
His withdrawal would pave the way for a runoff between Mirlande Manigat and Michel Martelly, which was the recommendation of an Organisation of American States (OAS) expert mission that reviewed the first round of election results that put Celestin behind Manigat and ahead of Martelly.
