FHP: Speed May Be Factor in Fatal Motorcycle Crash

FHP said, the driver of a motorcycle was killed after he lost control while driving on South Orange Avenue, near Wetherbee Road, on Thursday night around 11:00 pm.

Troopers say, 37-year-old, Luis Hernandez, of Casselberry, was heading northbound, at a high rate of speed, in the outside lane of South Orange Avenue, when he came upon a curve and was unable to control the motorcycle.  The motorcycle struck a concrete barrier several times, traveling over it.

Hernandez was ejected from his motorcycle and struck a fence.  He died on the spot.

Troopers say, Hernandez was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.  Toxicology results are being awaited to determine whether or not alcohol played a role in the crash.
