On Tuesday, Orange County scrapped its traditional open cry auctions and implemented a system which will see all mortgage foreclosures sales for all new filings, conducted entirely via the Internet.
No longer is it necessary for bidders to appear in person at the Orange County courthouse to participate in a sale. Buyers interested in foreclosure sales will now do so online at www.myorangeclerk.realforeclose.com.
The move to online foreclosure sales by the Orange County Clerk of the Court is aimed at reducing cost and staffing associated with “in person” auctions.
Bidders wishing to participate in a sale, must register on www.myorangeclerk.realforeclose.com website, to get a Username and Password and place a valid deposit prior to the sale, for bids to be considered.
But the website warns, every bidder must do their own research on each property. Buyer, beware!
The new online system is supported by Realauction.com, a privately owned company specializing in online tax certificate sale auctions and mortgage foreclosure sale auctions for local governments and municipalities.
Realauction already provides services to 28 Florida counties, including Brevard, Seminole, Polk and Sumter County.
