Daytona Beach Police are investigating the death of a man who was shot and killed which resulted in a car crash in the 700 block of Magnolia Avenue last Friday evening.
According to police, a vehicle was traveling west on Magnolia Avenue around 7:30 pm, when it hit a Florida Power & Light pole on the south-side of the street and then veered across the roadway, coming to rest on the north-side of the street, but not before striking a tree.
The investigation revealed that the victim had suffered a gunshot to the right side of his body below the armpit, causing the vehicle to crash.
Lekeefe D. Lee, 25 years, the victim and driver of the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene inside the car. Police believe that Lee died as a result of the gunshot wound.
The investigation is ongoing.
