Four Hospitalized After Student Tour Bus Crashes in Eustis

A bus filled with students from the Winter Springs area crashed on Friday evening around 7:00 pm on State Road 44 near Marshall Road in Eustis, leaving four persons hospitalized, one in critical condition, FHP said.

Troopers said that a 1999 Ford pick-up truck driven by Taylor Musselman, 17, of Eustis was attempting to make a u-turn and turned directly into the path of the tour bus which was traveling on State Road 44 near Marshall Road on Friday.

The driver of the 1993 tour bus, Carlos Cabrejos, 48, from Kissimmee, attempted to take evasive action, but the front of the bus struck the pick-up truck, pushing it some distance up against a tree.

Musselman was carring two passengers in the pick-up–Cody Godwin, 18, of Eustis, and Victoria Edwards, 16, also of Eustis.

All four–Muselman, Cabrejos, Godwin and Edwards were airlifted to the Orlando Regional Medical Center.   Goodwin is said to be in critical condition.

The tour bus was carrying students form the Winter Spring area to a week-end camp.  None of the students was injured in the crash.

Troopers said that the crash remains under investigation and charges are pending.
