Osceola County Sheriff’s deputies closed streets on Thursday in Celebration, Downtown Disney, as a precaution in a standoff between a man who barricaded himself inside his home and who was firing on police. The man eventually ended the standoff by taking his own life.
Craig Foushee, 52, was found dead from a gunshot wound, when deputies entered his home in the 900 block of Yew Court, after deploying tear gas and a robot, to end a standoff which had been ongoing for 14 hours, reports clickorlando.com. There are reports that Foushee shot at deputies before they entered his home, but no one was hit.
Deputies said that the suicide of Mr. Foushee is unrelated the Celebration homicide on Monday, earlier this week. On November 29, the first ever murder in Celebration town occurred when Matteo P. Giovanditto, 58, was killed in his apartment in the 500 block of Water Street.
Osceola deputies are continuing their investigation into both incidents.
