“Kevin was one of my appointments to the Charter Review Commission,” said Mayor-elect Jacobs. “He has extensive knowledge of county government which prepares him to lead the outstanding Orange County legal team.”

Mr. Shaughnessy is a past Chairman of the Coalition for the Homeless Board of Directors, and has chaired or been a director or founder of many non-profit and charitable organizations in Central Florida.

Mayor-elect Jacobs also has selected Graciela Noriega Jacoby as Chief of Staff.  Ms. Noriega Jacoby served as an Aide to Mayor-elect Jacobs during her two terms as District 1 Commissioner.

“Graciela was my ‘go-to’ person when it came to getting things done for my constituents in District 1 and vetting through the many initiatives I brought forth during my service as a county commissioner,” said Mayor-elect Jacobs. “I’m thrilled to bring her into the Mayor’s Office in such a vital role.”

Ms. Noriega Jacoby has a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and a master’s degree in Public Administration from the University of Central Florida.  She is an active member of Rotary International and the League of Women Voters and was presented with the All AmeriCorps Award by President Bill Clinton and the late Coretta Scott King after serving two years focused on community service projects throughout the United States.

On January 4, 2011, Mayor-elect Jacobs will take the oath of office at the Orange County Convention Center.  Four members of the Board of County Commissioners will also be sworn in during the ceremony.  Mr. Shaughnessy’s and Ms. Noriega Jacoby’s appointments also are effective January 4 or upon approval by the Board of County Commissioners.
