Authorities say two men in a new red or maroon Ford SUV pulled into a driveway in the 3300 block of Harbor Boulevard in Port Charlotte Tuesday afternoon (November 9) and convinced the elderly homeowner to examine the roof. According to the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office, the homeowner led one of the suspects to the backyard to talk about replacing the roof before driving off.
Moments later, the victim’s wife returned and noticed a bedroom had been disturbed. The suspect was described as about 5-foot-7 and heavy build. Similar incidents were reported in North Port and Charlotte Harbor recently.
