Lake County Commissioners to be Sworn In

Two new Lake County Commissioners will be sworn into office during an investiture ceremony on Tuesday, Nov. 16.

Commissioner-elect, Leslie Campione

County Commissioners-elect Sean M. Parks, District 2 and Leslie Campione, District 4, will take the oath of office during the ceremony. Following the ceremony, light refreshments will be served during a welcome reception for the two newly elected Lake County officials. The public is welcome to attend the investiture ceremony and reception. Immediately following the ceremony and reception, the Lake County Board of County Commissioners will conduct its regularly scheduled meeting.

Leslie Campione graduated from Eustis High School, and the University Of Florida College Of Law. Campione practiced law in Atlanta, Georgia before returning to Lake County in 1991 and opening her own practice in 1993. Campione has served the community in many capacities, including Junior Achievement teacher, YMCA Coach, Eustis Service League President, Church Youth Group Leader, and most recently, volunteering to teach students through the Justice Teaching program established by Chief Justice Lewis of the Florida Supreme Court. In addition to her private practice, she served as the City Attorney for the Town of Lady Lake from 1995 to 2003.  She has also served as City Attorney in Montverde, and currently is the City Attorney for Umatilla. Campione is married and has two children and three stepchildren.

Commissioner-elect, Sean M. Parks

Sean Parks was born and raised in Central Florida. He has a Masters in Engineering Management; Bachelors of Science in Environmental Sciences; and received his certification as a Regional Planner and Environmental Scientist with the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) from the American Planning Association (APA). Parks was elected in 2004 to the Lake County Water Authority Board of Trustees; served as the Lake District Chairman for the Boy Scouts of America; served as a Board member to the Lake County Educational Foundation; was a member of the South Lake Chamber of Commerce and the Chamber’s Economic Development Committee; is a past Rotary Club President; and Leadership Lake class of 2003 alumni. Parks is married and has three children ages 10 months to 8 years.
