DEP Host Unwanted Medicines, Plastics Bags Collection Event

Operation Medicine Cabinet and the Florida Department of Environmental Protection’s Easy As One initiative will host a free collection event in Orlando at the old Amway Arena from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 13. Bring expired or unwanted prescription and over-the-counter medications for proper disposal, retail plastic bags to be recycled and working and non-working used cell phones and chargers to be donated to charity.

Participants who bring in 20 or more plastic bags, a cell phone, or medicines will receive a day pass to any Florida State Park, while supplies last.

This free collection event is for households only. No business waste will be accepted. Event is coordinated by DEP and Perma-Fix of Orlando as part of an in-kind settlement.
