Deputies arrested a man who was already in jail on unrelated charges, in the shooting death of another man on October 8, on Baywood Avenue, a statement from the Orange County Sheriff’s Office said.
Frederick M. Quarterman, 38, was shot on October 8, around 6:00 pm, at 1822 Baywood Avenue and later died of his injuries.
Since then, deputies have been investigating the shooting death and today arrested Willie James Bush, Jr., 32, and charged him with first degree murder for the death of Quarterman.
Homicide Unit investigators did not have to travel far to serve the felony warrant for first degree murder on Bush, as he was already in the Orange County Jail on unrelated charges.
