An Orlando woman who left her 14-month old baby home alone while she went to City Walk at Universal on Thursday night, has been arrested and charged with child neglect.
Police were called to 2845 LB Mcleod Road in Orange County after a suspicious incident was reported. At the apartment police found a 14-month old baby sleeping at home, alone, and the mother of the baby missing. Police also discovered that the front door of the apartment had been broken into and the place ransacked.
Police issued a B.O.L.O. and launched a ground and air search for the mother of the child, Kendra Leonard, 28 years.
While working the case overnight, police say that Leonard turned up around 4:00 am on Friday morning, in the parking lot, walking to her apartment.
Detectives learned that Leonard had initially gone to Halloween Horror Nights at Universal but was unable to gain entry due to having no money. She then went to City Walk, returning home in the early hours of the morning.
Leonard was placed under arrest and charged with child neglect. She was placed in a squad car and taken to the booking center on 33rd street. Leonard told police that a 55 inch flat screen television was missing from her apartment. Bond has been set at $1,000.
The investigation is ongoing.
