U.S. Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Secretary Shaun Donovan will visit a senior housing development, Kinneret II apartments, on Tuesday, October 12 at 10:30 a.m., and host a press conference. Kinneret II Apartments received a $1,572,558.00 grant awarded through HUD’s Recovery Act Green Retrofit Program in July.
Donovan will also view ongoing construction on the site. The Green Retrofit Program, created through the Recovery Act, provided 221 projects around the country with awards to reduce utility consumption, cut water consumption, improve indoor air quality, and generate savings for tens of thousands of affordable housing residents. Congressman Alan Grayson (FL-8), Congresswoman Corrine Brown (FL-3), and Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer will join Donovan for the tour and press conference.
