Woman Dies Following Winter Garden House Fire

Orange County Sheriff’s deputies and the Orange County Fire Rescue continue their investigation into the circumstances surrounding a fire that broke out on Tuesday night at a home on Arrowhead Boulevard in Winter Garden and claimed the life of a 52-year-old woman.

Investigators were call to the home around 11:20 pm, on 17200 Arrowhead Blvd. in Orlando as a result of a fire.  Upon deputies’ arrival, they found Orange County Fire Rescue personnel performing CPR on a woman in front of the resident. The woman was transported to Celebration Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Deputies learned that the victim’s husband returned home from work around 11:20 pm, and heard the fire alarm going off.  The residence was full of smoke when he entered and found his wife unconscious inside.   The victim’s husband dragged his wife outside, called 911 and performed CPR until rescue units arrived.

The name of the deceased is Althea Morse, 52 years.  Her husband is William Morse.

The investigation into this tragic incident is ongoing.
