WHAT: Check Presentation to benefit Florida Concerns of Police Survivors

WHEN: October 6, 2010 – 8:30 AM

WHERE: Orange County Sheriff’s Office Central Complex, 2500 West Colonial Drive, Orlando – Mel Martinez Auditorium

WHO: Sheriff Jerry Demings will host the presentation event.  He will be joined by Allen D. Durham (President and CEO of Star and Shield Services) and Aundrea Hannah (Marketing Specialist with Star and Shield).

Dave Callin, retired Orange County Deputy and President of the Central Florida Concerns of Police Survivors and Frank Jenkins of the West Central Florida COPS Chapter are also scheduled to attend the event.

Dave Callin is the father of Michael Callin, the 26 year old Orange County Deputy who was intentionally run over and killed by a habitual traffic offender while working a speed enforcement detail in Orlando on August 1, 2006.  Mr. Jenkins is the father of UCF Police Officer Corporal Mario Jenkins who was shot and killed while working an underage drinking detail at an Orlando Florida football game on September 24, 2005

ETC: We hope you will take the time to join us for this most worthy event.  Law enforcement is one of the few career choices that can put those who pursue it in harm’s way in the course of their daily duties.  The Concerns of Police Survivors provides invaluable support to the families and loved ones of fallen law enforcement officers.  Star and Shield’s generous gift will greatly enhance the COPS organization’s ability to continue their ongoing efforts to provide care, comfort, and counsel to those whose loved ones made the ultimate sacrifice in the service of their community.
