Four crew members from Atlantic Southeast Airlines made history last month when Delta Connection Flight 5202 departed from Atlanta to Nashville, Tennessee.
The crew members were all black women, marking the first all-black female flight crew in U.S. history, according to the airline.
The airline, a wholly owned subsidiary of SkyWest, Inc. hailed the achievement as “the first scheduled commercial flight by a U.S.-based carrier with an all-female, African American crew.”
Captain Rachelle Jones, First Officer Stephanie Grant and flight attendants Diana Galloway and Robin Rogers flew the route on Feb. 12, and returned on flight 5106 to Atlanta on a CRJ700 aircraft.
