Orlando Mayor to Honor NY Firefighters of 9/11 Tragedy

On Saturday, September 11, Mayor Dyer, State of Florida Chief Financial Officer and Fire Marshal Alex Sink and Orlando City Commissioners will join the Orlando Fire Department for a candlelight memorial service to honor the 343 FDNY Firefighters who lost their lives in the September 11, 2001 attack, paying the ultimate sacrifice for the job they loved.

The Orlando Fire Department Honor Guard and the Orlando Firefighters Pipes and Drums Corps will lead the annual tribute to the brave men who perished on that tragic day nine years ago.  The lighting of 343 candles and the poignant strains of Amazing Grace will highlight this event.
