Marion County Inmate Charged with Murdering Roomate

Orange County Sheriff’s deputies arrested on Tuesday, an inmate in the Marion County Jail and charged him with first degree murder in the death of his roommate in Orlando, a little over three months ago.

According to deputies, on May 24, 2010, investigators responded to a 911 call around 10:30 am, to 3507 Mantou Drive in Orlando.

Warren Vorhies, a white male was discovered deceased inside the residence.

Detectives searched the residence on Mantou Drive and found that some of Vorhies’ personal property was missing.

Francis Ambach, 51, Vorhies’ roommate was also missing from the residence.  Upon executing additional search warrants, detectives located some of the victim’s property.

Homicide detectives developed probable cause and Ambach was arrested on Tuesday in the Marion County Jail on unrelated charges.

Ambach has been charged with first degree murder in the death of Vorhies.
